A sweet little stained glass piece depicting a small plant in a mid century style pot to hang in your window. This small stained glass piece is a beautiful addition to any room, adding a touch of colour to your space.
Each panel is made using traditional stained glass techniques which have changed very little since early medieval times. I design each piece and produce a working drawing which is called a cartoon. From this a cutline is made which is a guide for cutting each piece of glass. The glass I use for these small pieces are machine made but the technique is still traditional. This glass is brought in sheets and is cut down to size following the cut line. Any detailed work is now hand painted onto the glass and fired in my kiln to fuse the paint to the glass for permanence. Sometimes there may be multiply firings. The glass pieces are then leaded up in lengths of lead and soldered together to fix in place. Leaded light cement is then brushed into the gap between the glass and lead and finally, when dry is cut back and cleaned off and the panel is polished.
The photos show the panel in daylight and on a lightbox. I try to show colours as accurately as possible but please be aware that photographing glass is very hard.
Dimensions: approx cm H x cm W
Please be aware that due to the lead, children should not handle the panel and hands should be washed after handling.
